Daryl Hall, 77, filed a restraining order by the group’s co-founder and his bandmate, John Oates, 75, in a Nashville court last week. They have been together as the most successful pop and rock duo, Hall & Oates, for over 50 years since 1972.

In addition, this restraining order was obtained by Hall, beginning November 30; the court also issued the temporary restraining order. The suit was also against Oates and his wife, Aimee J. Oates, and a co-trustee of The John W. Oates TISA Trust in their capacities, Richard Flynn. Furthermore, the legal file includes a bond of $50,000. The additional information about the litigation has yet to be sealed in public at this time.

Even though Hall and Oates had created their cooperation for the long 51 years, their relationship had not been favorable. Furthermore, although they had never officially split up, they had been separated and only had worked together as business partners. Hall says about Oates, “He’s my business partner. He’s not my creative partner,” according to Stereogum.

Moreover, Oates was so surprised that they remained the duo after so many years. “John and I never fight. We’ve never had a real fight since we’ve known each other — and that’s since we were kids, teenagers. We just know to deal with each other. That’s why we’re still together,” during the interview by New York Post. Moreover, Oates also commented,  “The fact that Daryl and I are still friends, that he and I still get along — it’s a miracle, but we do.” from the same interview.

Things have been worse between the pair in recent years, spurring the apart-on by the COVID-19 pandemic. While Hall changed his perceptions and thoughts, Oates also developed his through pursuing each way for years and years. Accordingly, the dear pair does not remain in the original style anymore.
