Pop icon Madonna has been hospitalized with a serious bacterial infection, resulting in the postponement of her highly anticipated upcoming tour. Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, took to Instagram on Wednesday to provide an update on her condition.

According to Oseary, the 64-year-old Like a Virgin singer was admitted to the intensive care unit on Saturday and has been receiving medical attention since then. Madonna allegedly collapsed at home, which led to her being rushed to the hospital. While Madonna’s health is said to be improving, she is still under medical care and a full recovery is expected. Oseary emphasized that although Madonna may have left the ICU, she continues to require medical supervision.

In light of this health setback, all of Madonna’s commitments, including the tour, will be paused until further notice. Oseary assured fans that more details will be shared in due course, including a new start date for the tour and rescheduled shows.

Prior to her hospitalization, Madonna had been preparing to kick off The Celebration Tour, with the first concert initially planned for Vancouver, B.C., on July 15. However, due to the seriousness of her infection, the tour had to be postponed to allow for her recovery.
