Lonely Island Star Jorma Taccone Faces Months of Recovery After Serious Accident at Connecticut Farmhouse
Details of the Accident
September 3, 2025: Jorma Taccone, co-founder of the comedy trio The Lonely Island, sustained significant injuries after a 20-foot fall from a ladder at his Connecticut farmhouse. The incident occurred on the morning of his daughter’s fifth birthday, while Taccone was attempting to hang lights on his barn using a ladder that his neighbor had warned him was unstable.
Taccone Shares the Experience
During a recent podcast, Taccone recounted the fall, describing how the ladder gave way beneath him. He realized the severity of the situation as he fell, thinking, “I’m gonna die.” He landed directly on his buttocks, which absorbed the full impact. Taccone suffered a shattered pelvis and a detached sacrum, resulting in a prognosis of being unable to walk for three to six months.
Medical Treatment and Recovery
Following the accident, Taccone underwent surgery and is currently hospitalized. Doctors have indicated that with proper rehabilitation, he should regain mobility within the estimated recovery period. Despite the traumatic experience, Taccone remains optimistic, calling the incident “life-changing” and expressing gratitude that the outcome wasn’t worse.
Personal Impact
The timing of the accident was particularly challenging for Taccone, as it occurred on his daughter’s special day. His wife, director Marielle Heller, promptly called for an ambulance, and Taccone was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Looking Ahead
Known for his work on MacGruber and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, Taccone is also involved in an upcoming directorial project titled Over Your Dead Body. Despite the setback, he is expected to continue his creative endeavors once he has recovered.
