Why does North West prefer to live with Kanye?

On a recent episode of ‘Kardashian,’ Kim Kardashian revealed that her daughter North prefers to live with dad Kanye.

During the Nov. 2 episode, Kim spoke with her sister Kourtney about her 10-year-old daughter.

“She’ll be like, ‘Dad is the best,'” Kim told her sister.

Before adding, “‘He has it all figured out. He doesn’t have a nanny, he doesn’t have a chef, he doesn’t have security. He lives in an apartment.’

The she revealed that North would start crying and asking her why she doesn’t have an apartment.

Wow, so little North prefers the simple things in life. Is that really such a bad thing?

Moreover, it kind of sounds like North prefers the sense of normalcy that Kanye might be providing at his home.

Often children want, even crave to be just like other children and it seems K is providing that on a level.

Besides, it’s normal for children to want to learn to do things on their own. It’s how they grow.

But we can understand why Kim might feel hurt by it.

Kourtney Kardashian supports Kim Kardashian through their shared experience.

But is it really a big deal? most children will go through phases of having a favourite parent.

However, Kourtney who is also a mother of four, was nonetheless sympathetic to her sister’s feelings.

“They do that at Scott’s too,” Kourtney told her sister before telling her that they would often say,

“‘Dad has the best house, your house sucks.” And added that she felt like it fell on the parent who is “more involved.”

But clinical psychologists say it’s common for little kids to have a preference for a particular parent.

What the kids are doing is fairly normal and there are things parents can do to cope in this situation.

In fact, one of the steps to coping when a child has a parental preference is acceptance.

Respect the child’s preference in that moment without interference.

It doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t want or need you, but it just might be who they need in that moment.

Kim Kardashian is handling the situation like a champ.

Even as she deals with the favouritism from North, Kim seemingly takes her sister’s words to heart.

It’s no secret that Kim often goes to Kourtney for parenting advice and Kim revealed that Kourtney said that North might be her “lesson.”

“Kourtney always says that North is my lesson on this planet,” I’m supposed to learn even more about patience.”

Which could very well be true, and it’s admirable that Kim is taking this view of the situation.

Perhaps Kim’s words On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast sum it up best.

“There is nothing that can prepare you.”

“You will figure it out, and it will make you so proud of yourself that you figured it out.”
