The harrowing details of the plot emerged during police interviews, where Shiver allegedly confessed to sending photos of her husband along with messages instructing the hitman to “kill him.” The revelation led to the trio’s arrest on July 21 in the Bahamas, where they were vacationing.

According to reports, Shiver and Bethel had been involved in a clandestine relationship for several months before her husband discovered the affair. Robert filed for divorce, citing his wife’s “adulterous conduct,” which resulted in the loss of her access to their luxurious residence in the exclusive Baker’s Bay resort and their private jet.

The murder plot came to light when authorities were investigating a break-in at a waterfront drinking spot. Upon inspecting the phones of the establishment’s staff, incriminating WhatsApp messages surfaced, indicating the deadly plan.

Robert, who was vacationing separately at the time, was alerted by the police about the plot and flew back to the US with their three young sons, fearing for their safety. The allegations have left him devastated and shocked, seeking custody of their children and total ownership of their Georgia mansion in the divorce proceedings.

Shiver, Bethel, and Newbold were arrested and are currently awaiting further legal proceedings in Nassau. Shiver’s bail was set at $100,000, but she remains in custody until the arrangements are finalized at an upcoming hearing.

The case has garnered significant attention due to its sensational nature, involving a former cheerleader, a barman lover, and an alleged hitman. The small community of Great Guana Cay, where the plot unfolded, has been left stunned by the revelation, with acquaintances of Newbold expressing disbelief that he could be involved in such a heinous crime.

As the investigation continues, Lindsay Shiver will remain under strict surveillance, unable to leave the Bahamas and required to report daily to a police station until her indictment in October.
