Lorde has announced the title of her upcoming single. The new track has been teased to fans over social media before being confirmed on the singer’s Instagram account.

“My new song What Was That. Out soon,” wrote Lorde on Instagram. This caption was accompanied by the song’s cover art taken by photographer Talia Chetrit. The photo has Lorde staring into the camera, wearing a red shirt, and dripping in either water or sweat.

Prior to this happening, Lorde teased a snippet of the song on her TikTok account. “Since I was 17, I gave you everything / Now we wake from a dream, well baby, what was that?/ What was that?” she sings in the post.

In addition, she also shared a voice note to fans where she teased her return to music.

“I just wanted to say it, because everything is about to change,” Lorde said in the voice note.

Charli XCX Coachella

Much to the delight of fans, the ”Green Light” singer has been quite active in the public eye recently. For instance, she performed ”Girl So Confusing” alongside Charli XCX at Coachella.

The New Zealand singer is normally a very private celebrity who takes four-year breaks between releasing new albums. However, her recent activity has left fans hungry for new content.
