What Happened At The Rainbow Bridge Today
Initial reports from the U.S suggested that the explosion was an act of terrorism but an investigation is still ongoing. At the time of publishing the latest update from New York Governor Kathy Hochul said, At this time, there is no indication of a terrorist attack.”
The governor also added that the vehicle is “basically incinerated” with nothing left but the engine, and pieces scattered throughout the scene. “The pieces are scattered over 13, 14 booths so it is a large scene,” she said.
The Rainbow Bridge is still closed, but other entry points like the Peace Bridge have been reopened.
Rainbow Bridge Explosion Video
So far no video footage of the explosion have been published, just the video of the car speeding towards the border. It is unclear at this time what the motive was but Toronto has increased police presence in the city out of caution and Amtrak have temporarily suspended service as a precaution. We will publish new updates as they come in.
