As outlined in The Los Angeles Times, Walker’s attorney, Deion A. Benjamin, says his client never intended to hurt the rapper.
“We send our condolences to Pop Smoke’s family, friends, and loved ones,” Benjamin said. “It’s an unfortunate event and everyone loses out, but my client did not want this murder to happen.”
However, Benjamin also said that the plea deal was an ”attractive” offer because his client’s incarceration would end while he was still young.
