Controversial Podcast Interview with White Nationalist Nick Fuentes Leads to Agency Firing and Dropped Role

“Sailor Socialism” to Persona Non Grata

November 18, 2025: Actress, director, and popular podcaster Dasha Nekrasova is facing significant professional consequences in Hollywood after a recent controversial interview on her popular podcast, Red Scare. The path to her current industry shunning has been marked by years of provocative public commentary, shifting political associations, and an aesthetic defined by ironic antagonism.

This week, Nekrasova was fired by her talent agency, The Gersh Agency, and was dropped from the upcoming film Iconoclast, following her interview with far-right commentator Nick Fuentes, who is known for antisemitic and misogynistic rhetoric.

The Interview That Led to the Fallout

The November 2025 podcast episode featured Nekrasova and her co-host, Anna Khachiyan, hosting Fuentes. During the discussion, Nekrasova reportedly praised Fuentes with comments such as “I’m such a fan, honestly.” Furthermore, the three participants discussed “international Jewry” multiple times, advancing offensive stereotypes.

While Nekrasova is known for her provocative, “dirtbag left” style—often satirizing political correctness and establishment liberalism—the interview with Fuentes crossed a line for many in the entertainment industry, leading directly to her removal from professional representation and film projects.

A Career Defined by Deliberate Controversy

Nekrasova, who gained mainstream recognition for her recurring role as Comfrey in the third season of HBO’s Succession, has long courted controversy:

“Sailor Socialism” Viral Moment (2018): Nekrasova first achieved viral fame when she trolled an InfoWars reporter while dressed in a Japanese schoolgirl outfit, delivering lines like, “You people have, like, worms in your brains, honestly,” a moment that cemented her early association with the political “dirtbag left.”

The Red Scare Podcast: The show has built a cult following by offering a cynical critique of contemporary feminism, capitalism, and identity politics, frequently wading into culturally sensitive areas with dark humor and provocative language, including critiquing the #MeToo movement.

Shifting Politics: Despite her early association with Bernie Sanders, Nekrasova has recently expressed support for Donald Trump, saying she “genuinely” loves him and voted for him in 2024 with the hope he would withdraw military aid from Ukraine.

Despite winning the Best First Feature Award at the Berlin International Film Festival for her directorial debut, The Scary of Sixty-First (2021), her persistent and often aestheticized embrace of controversial figures and ideas ultimately became the barrier that Hollywood, known for its emphasis on political alignment, was unwilling to cross.
