Kesha and Dr. Luke

According to this source, Kesha and Dr. Luke have settled the defamation case that has been ongoing for almost a decade. In a public statement on Thursday, both parties announced that the defamation case is over and have moved on with their lives.

“Only God knows what happened that night. As I always said, I cannot recount everything that happened. I am looking forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and beginning a new one. I wish nothing but peace to all parties involved.” Kesha wrote.

“While I appreciate Kesha again acknowledging that she cannot recount what happened that night in 2005, I am absolutely certain that nothing happened. I never drugged or assaulted her and would never do that to anyone. For the sake of my family, I have vigorously fought to clear my name for nearly 10 years. It is time for me to put this difficult matter behind me and move on with my life. I wish Kesha well.” Dr. Luke wrote in the statement.

According to TMZ, in 2014, Kesha accused Dr. Luke of allegedly raping her in 2005. Following the accusation, Dr. Luke sued the singer for defamation.

Back in 2014, Dr. Luke, real name Lukasz Gottwald, accused Kesha of trying to “extort Gottwald into releasing Kesha from the exclusive recording agreement.” as noted by Billboard.

“This type of malicious, destructive and vengeful conduct serves no legitimate purpose and should not be countenanced,” Dr. Luke’s lawyers stated back then, as added by the same source.
