Elle Fanning lost a role at 16 for being ‘unf*ckable’

Elle Fanning opens up about a role she lost for a father daughter road trip comedy. Fanning got rejected from the role at the age of 16. “I’ve never told this story, but I was trying out for a movie. I didn’t get it. I don’t even think they ever made it, but it was a father-daughter road trip comedy,”

‘The Great’ star said, “I was 16 years old, and a person said, ‘Oh, she didn’t get the father-daughter road trip comedy because she’s unf***able.’” Fanning can laugh it off now as she makes a remark saying, ‘What a disgusting pig!’

At such an impressionable age, Elle Fanning had a filtration system that blocked the damaging comments towards her. Although the ‘unf*ckable’ comment got to her, Elle praised her ‘amazing manager and agent’ who has been with her since she was 8 or 9. These people made her feel “very protected”. Fanning further adds, “I don’t feel like it damaged me, but it definitely made me very aware of myself.”

Last month, Fanning opened up about another role she was turned down from as she “didn’t have enough Instagram followers at the time.” Thus it’s not the first experience where Elle Fanning had been rejected from roles due to unacceptable reasons.

Elle Fanning Cannes 2023

Elle Fanning has been attending the Cannes Film Festival since she was a young teenager. From a video call from Cannes, Fanning says, “I’ve always loved a red carpet moment.” Well, she definitely blew everyone away on Thursday night with a beautiful shimmering silver skirt and snowflake-shaped metal cups. A metal strap drops down from her neck to her skirt, connecting the whole ensemble.
