Brand beginnings
As a lifelong dancer, Nia Faith Betty had a dream that every dancer would have apparel that celebrates the skin they’re in. After spending countless hours dyeing dancewear to match her skin tone, she knew it was time for change. This is how Révolutionnaire came to be, and Nia launched Révolutionnaire’s inclusive clothing line that served to empower all to celebrate the skin they’re in.
Now, Nia and her sister, Justice have evolved Révolutionnaire into a larger movement to empower individuals to use their dreams to fuel revolutions through a social network for changemakers.

Nia and Justice from Révolutionnaire have joined forces with essie to create a stunning collection of nail polish shades that are perfect for anyone and everyone. The shade range includes 6 neutral shades inspired by the Révolutionnaire palette and have been thoughtfully curated to complement every skin tone.
For many years, essie’s iconic shade storytelling focused on their story of colourful inspiration, but through #yourshadeyourstory and the partnership with révolutionnaire, essie is asking its community to share how colour inspires them and celebrating connection through infinite story-telling possibilities.
The new collection features 6 gorgeous shades from expressie by essie. These include: take the espresso, cold brew crew, buns up, millennium momentum, daily grind, and always transparent.
