Morant was reportedly on an Instagram live stream in a club where he could be seen flashing what looked like a gun, as noted here. Hours after the video went live his team announced that “he would be away for at least 2 games” as well, the NBA is investigating this now.

According to this video, this is the second time this year that Morant has been the subject of a league investigation.

Why Is Ja Morant Not Playing?

Morant has been suspended for at least 2 games by his team after the video of him supposedly holding a gun in a club went viral, mentioned here.

As stated here, there is reportedly no timetable for Ja Morant to return to the Memphis Grizzlies according to his coach, Taylor Jenkins “He’s definitely embracing the mistakes that he’s made but only time will tell. We’re going to support him and we’re going to hold him accountable to make those changes,” said Jenkins when addressing the controversy surrounding Morant and his recent suspension.

This video states that Morant is “struggling to cope with the pressure of being in the NBA spotlight.”
