LeBron James Injury: Could This Spell Disaster for Lakers?

March 10, 2025 – Lakers’ odds of winning the NBA championships have taken a hit after star player LeBron James suffers a groin injury.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been on a winning-high, scoring victories from the New York Knicks and New Orleans Pelicans these past weeks. On Saturday, March 8th, the team was primed to take on the Boston Celtics to continue their eight-game winning streak, when an unforeseen injury shifted the game’s momentum.

While the competition had been neck-in-neck, in the end, the Lakers suffered a 111-101 loss to the Celtics. Noticeably, Lakers’ lost charge of the game when a groin injury took star player LeBron James out during the fourth quarter.

Recently, LeBron became the first NBA player to score 50,000 career points, and his disappearance was immediately missed by teammates and fans.

LeBron Is Optimistic About Injury But Reports Say Otherwise

LeBron James reported being optimistic about his injury, but latest updates have fans a bit more worried. Shams Charania of ESPN posted that LeBron “is expected to miss at least 1-to-2 weeks with a groin strain.”

Thankfully, Shams also reported that LeBron’s injury does not seem as severe as the groin tear he suffered in 2018, which forced him to miss 17 games.

While some are taking LeBron’s injury seriously, others are criticizing LeBron’s performance during the Lakers vs Celtics game.

Only time will tell how soon LeBron James will return back to the court, and how the Lakers will fare without him. The next Lakers game is set for March 11th against the Brooklyn Nets.
