The Steelers take home another dominating win on the back of their defense against the Giants on Monday Night.
October 29, 2024- Pittsburgh showed out at home once again with another defensively dominant performance against the Giants’ abysmal offense. The primetime finish ended 26-18 in favor of the Steelers.
The Giants offense simply cannot find its groove this season. Quarterback Daniel Jones has failed to throw for a touchdown in 3 straight games. The Giants have had to rely on their running game primarily throughout these weeks while simultaneously relying on kicker Graham Gano to get them points on the board.
Now, they did face probably the toughest defensive unit in the league spearheaded by a multi-defensive player of the year T.J Watt. Watt is without a doubt a future Hall of Famer, and he continued to prove so with his weekly standout performances. Watt forced a strip-sack against Daniel Jones deep inside Steelers territory, preventing any hope of a comeback.

The Giants somehow get the ball back and with 34 seconds, in need of a touchdown and a 2-point conversion, Daniel Jones throws a high ball over the head of his receiver which was intercepted, effectively ending the game.
Steelers vs. Giants Player Stats
The first half of this Monday night primetime game was defined by a lack of touchdowns. With the first 9 points for each team coming from field goals. Granted, there were touchdowns called back due to penalties on both sides which was frustrating for both the teams and viewers.
The first touchdown of the game was scored on a punt return by Calvin Austin III, he would go on to score another touchdown the next drive on a deep ball from Russel Wilson.
The Giants struggled to answer back as Jones and star wide receiver Malik Nabers failed to connect throughout the game. However, they found life in their rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. as he broke off for a tough 45-yard touchdown run. The Giants would go for two following the score but would be embarrassed as Steelers linebacker Alex Highsmith blew up a trick play.
This led to some ridicule by many fans around the league.

Following the game, fans were calling for the benching of Daniel Jones. Many speculate that Tommy Devito, who went on a fantastic run last season, would become the new starter for the rest of the season. Though the Giants haven’t announced any change in personnel, don’t be surprised if Jones is benched sometime this season.
The Steelers have now won 22 straight home Monday Night Football Games
The Giants fall to 2-5 while the Steelers move up to 6-2.
