June 11, 2025: Yasmine Sahid is taking the world by storm! With a bold blend of charisma, comedic timing, and heartfelt authenticity, Sahid has captivated millions online and seamlessly transitioned into traditional media. Known for her high-energy presence, Sahid is now stepping into exciting new territory with her role in the upcoming series Overcompensating (Prime Video, Spring 2025) and a jazz-inspired debut single.

In this candid conversation with HOLR Magazine, Sahid opens up about the serendipity behind landing her latest role, the challenge of juggling multiple creative identities, and the surreal moment she found herself not just attending, but working the Oscars.

Talk to us about your role in “Overcompensating”. What drew you to this project, and what can you tell us about your character?

People were telling me that it’s a role that they expect me to play. Full of energy, slightly obnoxious, but means well. I was beyond excited when I heard Benny’s show was being developed. When I heard the news, I was like, “I gotta manifest myself in this.” Benny and I have been online friends for a while, but have never met. So, when I got the audition, I basically jumped out of my seat. Then getting the call that I booked it felt like a full circle moment.

You’ve worn so many creative hats—actress, host, writer, content creator, and now music artist. How do you balance all these passions?

Honestly, I don’t know. I think it’s because I get antsy when I feel like I’m not doing something creatively or industry-wise. I don’t know if balance is the right word to use, but mostly my creative phases come in waves and how I’m feeling mentally. Last year, I had a huge wave of hosting and acting, and I was more confident and happier, which made me focus a lot on those two. This year, I’m leaning more towards writing and music, but it’s been more of a challenge for me, headspace-wise, so I’m looking for outlets to release my emotions!

Your upcoming debut single is a cover of Frank Sinatra’s “Old Devil Moon.” What inspired you to choose that particular song, and how are you putting your own unique spin on it?

I’ve made music before, but they were more comedic songs. My first single was “Baroque,” which I made, I think, four years ago, and it’s a song about being broke but still having an expensive taste. My latest one was “Main Character,” which fit into the trope I kept making sketches on – being the center of attention when no one’s actually paying attention. “Old Devil Moon” is more random for me! I sang jazz in high school, and it’s one of my favorite genres to listen to. So, I thought, why not do a short jazz standard? It’s cute. And I hope that it opens doors for me in the more classical and musical theatre world. But I’m for sure going back to pop music real soon! It’s in my blood!

You’ve captivated millions online with your content. How has your social media presence shaped your journey in the entertainment industry?

It’s wild how different my life has become ever since starting social media. I honestly wouldn’t be here if I had never taken the jump to start posting. It’s certainly introduced me to some amazing people and given me amazing opportunities. It’s push and pull sometimes because I want to keep up with my posting, but also want to focus on working on bigger, offline projects. So, time has gotten more limited for me. But this is a job I used to dream about, so I’m grateful for the problems that come with the job.

You’ve also been incredibly active on major red carpets and festivals, from the Oscars to Cannes. What’s been the most surreal moment for you so far in those experiences?

The Oscars by far. Every time I think about it, I still can’t conceptualize it. I wasn’t just attending it but working! So, it was extremely validating to know that the Academy trusted me to represent them at such an honorable event.
