As outlined in the Los Angeles Times, Eminem fans paid Strange $50,000 in Bitcoin in exchange for 25 unreleased songs. While investigating Strange’s home in Detroit, the FBI uncovered thousands of tracks stored on hard drives. Moreover, the FBI also discovered an unreleased music video and handwritten lyrics in his possession. Strange reportedly worked for the rapper between 2007 to 2021 as an audio engineer, and the leaked tracks were recorded by the rapper between 1999 and 2018.

According to Eminem, he is “appreciative”  of the FBI’s efforts to track down who was behind the leaks. In addition, the rapper stated that “significant damage was caused” to both himself and his team because of Strange.

“The significant damage caused by a trusted employee to Eminem’s artistic legacy and creative integrity cannot be overstated,” said a spokesman for the rapper.

This is also not the first time Eminem has taken legal action to protect his artistry. For instance, the rapper filed a protective order against two reality show stars for using the word ”Shady” in a podcast.
