Last Saturday we reported that American rapper DMX had been hospitalized for a heart attack  following a drug overdose. Today his family has announced that he has passed away at the age of 50.

In a statement the family said “We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days”

DMX was know as a great rapper, especially for his hit ‘X Gon’ Give It To Ya’ the rapper had struggled with substance abuse in the past and had chosen to go to rehab to recover. This past year he was seen with rapper Snoop Dogg and had been promoting possible new music alongside Pop Smoke who we lost in 2020, and Alicia Keys.
