Whether you are in a relationship, married, or flying solo, it is important to celebrate yourself! Valentine’s Day used to be targeted towards couples, but over the last few years single to mingle parties have been popular for those that want to celebrate being single together.

The age of promoting self-love has sparked! After all, National Single Awareness day officially falls on February 15th. Here are some ways that you can treat yourself, and it’s about time.

Have breakfast in bed

Heart waffles, bacon, eggs, fruit salad, or whatever your jam is, make yourself a special treat and enjoy breakfast in bed. It is the most important meal of the day, right? Put on that Netflix, kick back, and relax!

Buy yourself a box of chocolates!

As the infamous Forrest Gump said, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” Who says chocolates are only for gifting purposes?

Go on a stay-cation

There are plenty of spas and beautiful hotels in the city of Toronto. Why not book a massage or enjoy a little you time at a fancy hotel like the St. Regis or Hotel X for a small weekend getaway?

send yourself flowers

Just because you don’t have a beau does not mean you should wait around for flowers. If you are a nature-lover, visit your local florist and have your favourite flowers or succulents sent directly to your door.

Surround yourself with positive people

If you want to hang out with your best guy or gal pals, why not have a night on the town. Grab drinks or have some dinner for a nice evening out. Spending time with family and friends that care is always a great way to make yourself feel good.

Do something you love

Find your happy place by expressing yourself with something that you enjoy doing. Bake a cake, read, play music, go for a run, paint, sculpt, sew, or go shopping! Think about what makes you happy and go for it.

Now, only one question remains: How are you going to celebrate yourself this Valentine’s Day?
