Drake’s former bodyguard,  Mike Van Wyck, has reportedly been charged with assault following an encounter with another fitness creator, Jeff Nippard.

October 23, 2024– According to this new Instagram post by Jeff Nippard, Drake’s ex-bodyguard, Mike Van Wyck, is caught up in some recent drama.

As this article by BlogTO claims, Nippard is speaking out to discuss what went down after a video allegedly showing Van Wyck pushing Nippard to the ground started circulating online.

As outlined in the above IG post, Nippard claimed that “Mike Van Wyck jabbed me in the throat twice in the middle of the gym and then shoved my camera man.”

Nippard was reportedly in the Pure Muscle + Fitness gym located in Burlington, Ontario filming some content (bicep curls for a YouTube short) with a cameraman when he had some small interactions with Van Wyck that escalated.

Here is Nippard’s sequence of events he outlines in the post:

“As I was filming bicep curls for a YouTube short, Mike brushed by me and said “sup”. This was our first engagement that day.

I chuckled.

Mike said “oh things are about to get real funny” as he walked past me.

I then asked him “what did you mean by that?” and I made sure my camera man was filming in case he tried any funny business.

Then he walked back toward me, he said “turn the camera off” and immediately jabbed me in the throat and I fell onto the floor.

Pure muscle and fitness allows filming btw.

I stood back up and he told me to never talk about him ever again.

Then he jabbed me in the throat a second time.”

Allegedly, Van Wyck perpetrated the physical interaction between Nippard and himself that has since gone viral.

Nippard also claims that Pur Muscle + Fitness allows filming so it is unclear why Van Wyck got into an interaction with Nippard.
