A drunk driver blamed his dog after getting pulled over for speeding. The driver switched places with the dog during the incident.

A drunk driver tried to blame his dog after getting pulled over for speeding. The driver reportedly attempted to switch places with his dog, which was seated in the passenger seat.

The incident occurred during the weekend, in which an officer from Springfield, Colorado, stopped the driver for driving 52mph (about 84km/h) in a 30mph (about 48km/h) zone as stated here.

Drunk driver blames dog

Once stopped, the driver, a male, got out of the passenger side of the vehicle claiming he was not the one driving.

The man attempted to escape but was caught and taken to Baca County Jail in Springfield. The driver was reportedly intoxicated. Springfield Police poked fun at the incident (as noted here) by stating the below in a Facebook post, describing the incident:

“The dog does not face any charges and was let go with just a warning.”
