The singer drank out of his Adidas x Gucci shoe while performing in Perth, Australia this past Monday night. In various videos recorded by fans, Styles can be seen filling up the shoe with a beverage and chugging it in front of everyone.

“This is one of the most disgusting traditions I’ve ever [heard of],” Styles said as noted here. “I feel like a different person.” He also went on to say, “I feel ashamed of myself. It feels so personal. Such an intimate moment to be shared with so many people.”

A “Shoey” is a widespread practice in Australia and reportedly refers to filling up a shoe with an alcoholic drink and drinking from it.

Styles recently attended the 2023 Grammy Awards where he wowed the crowd during his performance and showcased various outfit changes. He also took home the prestigious Album of the Year Award, where his acceptance speech was deemed controversial and thus widely discussed.
