2023 is definitely a great year when it comes to movies. There are a lot of movies to look forward to, some of them being dedicated to superheroes while the other are more inclined towards action movies. Moving on to the highly anticipated movies of 2023, here are some movies that have already been released or are currently in line to be released:

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Your favorite band of heroes is back again, except that the only difference is that Gamora isn’t part of the team anymore. After suffering this huge loss, we finally get to see the Guardians of the Galaxy get back together under Peter Quill (Starlord) who is already suffering from grief after losing Gamora. This movie will determine whether Peter is capable of leading the Guardians of the Galaxy and will the team be successful in whatever mission they are out on. 

This movie will mark either the success of the Guardians of the Galaxy or it will mark the end of the team if they are unable to accomplish the mission, since their morale is brought significantly down after the loss of Gamora. 

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be a continuation to Miles Morales’ story as he takes on the mantle of being Spider-Man, taking place of Peter Parker who we always knew to be the only Spider-Man. In the previous movie, we saw how Peter travelled through another dimension so that he could teach Miles to be an effective Spider-Man and even though Miles is new to it all, he still does a pretty good job. 

Across the Spider-Verse will be split into two parts and the first part of the movie is releasing later this year. Not much is known about the storyline but we can see that Miles has grown up significantly and he is still in contact with Gwen. He is again pulled across the Spider-Verse and he finally gets to meet Spider-Man 2099, a futuristic version of Spider-Man. 

Creed III

If you are a fan of the Rocky movies then Creed III is definitely something to be excited for. The movie continues the story of Adonis Creed (played by Michael B. Jordan) who is the son of Apollo Creed, who was a very dear friend of Rocky Balboa. An interesting fact about this movie is that it is directed by Michael B. Jordan himself as a debut director. The best part about the movie is that before this, Adonis was living under the shadow of his father, Apollo and his mentor, Rocky but in this movie, he finally emerges from those shadows. 

In this movie, Adonis goes against his childhood friend who is back to show Adonis that he has what it takes to be a boxing champion. Adonis takes on his childhood friend to prove who the better boxer is among the two. 

Shazam: Fury of the Gods

Your favorite 15 year old superhero is back again. Fury of the Gods is about Billy Batson and his fellow orphan “siblings” who have all acquired the powers of Shazam. This means that Billy wont be the only superhero in the movie and he will be accompanied by his siblings as they take on a new villain, which would naturally make things a lot more interesting. 

In the movie, the villains are supposed to be ancient Greek Gods who are under the impression that their powers have been stolen by mortals on Earth, which is exactly why Billy needs his family to support him as they all use their powers to defeat the Greek Gods. What is interesting is the fact that the Shazam family goes against Greek Gods, which is something you have never seen before. 

John Wick: Chapter 4

The Baba Yaga is back again for another exhilarating movie. The movie continues with the story of John as he is still seeking payback and this time he is going against the High Table itself, an organization that is dedicated to the world of assassins and mafia bosses. In the last movie, John had been banished by the High Table and he was abandoned by all those who were close to him. 

This time, John will seek the help of the people who had employed him earlier, for which he will have to go against a lot of characters played by well-known actors such as Bill Skarsgard and Donnie Yen, which is exciting enough to keep us waiting anxiously for the movie. 

Wrapping Up

These are some of the movies that all of us have been waiting for very patiently and we cant wait for them to release. In no time, we will finally get to see all that amazing John Wick action and gunplay along with a little bit of superpowers with Shazam and some boxing with Creed!
