American Fiction is a satirical comedy that stars Jeffrey Wright.

The trailer of American Fiction was dropped on Monday by Orion Pictures and Amazon MGM Studios. Jeffrey Wright plays the lead. The movie also stars Tracee Ellis Ross, John Ortiz, Erika Alexander, Leslie Uggams, Adam Brody, Keith David, Issa Rae, and Sterling K. Brown. It is based on the novel “Erasure” by Percival Everett.

Cord Jefferson will be making his directorial debut with it. He also produced the film alongside Ben LeClair, Nikos Karamigios, and Jermaine Johnson. Executive Producers are Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman and Percival Everett.

Recently, it made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it won this year’s People’s Choice Award.

Wright plays the character of Monk, an author whose books are not getting popular. For his new book, the editors demand a Black book. After that, Monk wrote a book titled My Pafology. Instead of his real name, Monk uses a pen name, “Stagg.” Surprisingly, his book creates a phenomenon. As a result, it even received a deal of four million dollars for movie rights.

It will be released on December 15 in selected theatres and will expand on December 22. Watch the trailer below.
