Tell us about yourself and your beginnings on Broadway.

I’ve been an actress since I was a child. I actually started off at 4 years old. One of my more memorable gigs was of the young Nala on broadway, so that was a huge milestone in my career.

I also did guest spots on Saturday Night Live, ER, and Without A Trace. When I came out to Los Angeles, I actually started to do a lot more television roles. As a result, I got some guest spots on Vita, Good Trouble, NCIS.

The more recent stuff is Bosch: Legacy and This Is Us.

You will be starring in “Bosch: Legacy” as Paulina Calderon. Can you tell us about this role?

Sure! Bosch: Legacy is a continuation of the original series Bosch, which went on for several seasons. I play Paulina Calderon who is a rookie cop, just like Maddie, if you follow the story.

We continued the story, but what’s so great about Bosch is that even if you haven’t followed along previously, we’ll catch you up. Plus, the show is so awesome that you’re going to want to go back anyways to watch more!

What are some of your favourite roles you’ve starred in to date?

Oh my! They’re all so great and special in their own ways.

Things that come to mind are-of course-is anything on Broadway. As well, the roles that I’m doing now are so great! Starring in This Is Us has been a huge milestone. I’ve wanted to be on that show for so long.

If people followed along with my career, I ended up taking a break and came back into the industry in 2019, so I remember writing down a little manifestation list and that was #1 on my list that I wanted so in the end it happened! During the last 3 episodes of the show, your girl made it! I’m super excited about that.

P.S. Get your tissues ready! I play nurse Laila who helps Mandy Moore’s character go through her diagnosis, so it’s a lot.

As a rising presence in TV & Film for the Latino community, what’s next for you? What are your future goals?

I want to keep continuing to play different types of roles. I think it’s very important for the Latino community to see us in these professional roles and to see a variety of different types of roles. For example, playing a cop or playing a nurse, like on This Is Us. I want that expansion!

I’m open to any roles that are going to expand myself as an actress as well as open the door for our community and the actresses following behind me.

You’re also a strong advocate for women’s empowerment- can you speak to that?

I’m all about empowering women! Any kind of presence I can make is really important to me to help open the door for women in the industry.
