Singer Lana Del Rey is going to release a country-inspired album in May next year. Rey has been teasing the release of this new record since February 2024. Will it live up to the hype?

November 28, 2024- It has been a big year for Rey who reportedly tied the knot with her boyfriend this year. Moreover, according to Rolling Stone, Rey is releasing her new record on the 21st of May, 2025. Additionally, initially calling the album Lasso, Rey confirms it is a country-inspired project titled The Right Person Will Stay. At a Billboard pre-grammy event, Rey discusses the album’s creative direction.

“If you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country… We’re going country. It’s happening. That’s why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years,” states Rey.

In addition, as outlined in Vogue, Rey also states that artistically, the album is not a vast departure from her previous work. “All my albums are somewhat rooted in Americana… so I don’t think it will be a heavy departure.” “If anything, it will just be a little lighter lyrically and more pointed in a classic country, American, or Southern Gothic production — which, again, so many of my songs already are, the singer tells Vogue.

Moreover, as Pitchfork states, the album will feature 13 new songs. The album has collaborations with Jack Antonoff, Drew Erickson, Luke Laird, and Zach Dawes. Laird is a country producer and songwriter. Meanwhile, Antonoff and Erickson contributed to Rey’s album “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.

Lastly, much to fans’ excitement, Rey has announced a 2025 tour of The United Kingdom and Ireland, as stated in Variety.
