All about how Adam created MJ Rodriguez’s stunning red carpet look for the 73rd Annual Emmy Awards using Charlotte Tilbury products!
Awards season is officially upon us and our favourite celebs are rocking the most beautiful makeup looks strutting down the red carpet.
This year, MJ Rodriguez’s beauty stole the show at the 73rd Annual Emmy Awards, and, today, HOLR is sitting down with her MUA, Adam Breuchaud, to discuss the inspiration behind her makeup and how he incorporated must-have products from Charlotte Tilbury into the look.
MJ Rodriguez looked beautiful during the 73rd Annual Emmy Awards! As her MUA for the big night, how did you come up with her makeup look?
There was a timeless Hollywood feel to the dress. The light teal/blue color of the Versace dress was inspired by the ocean so leaning into that inspo we played with where the water meets the sand and stayed sculpted beachie vibe while still being elevated for the occasion.

The glowy Super Nudes face palette, Nudegasm was definitely the star of this look adding a sun-kissed depth and highlights all over. But… here’s the whole breakdown….
Start by Prepping the skin with Charlotte’s magic cream and magic serum Crystal elixir.
Then blend CT airbrush flawless foundation into the skin. Using two shades, lighter and darker, will start to help to sculpt the face.
On her eye, start by running the CT rock n kohl eyeliner, Velvet Violet, along the lash line in a smudgy pulled-out line. Then blend upwards towards the lid. This creates the base for a great soft subtle Smokey eye. Using the Super Nudes eye palette date night colors.
On her cheek, CT airbrush bronzer all over for a base depth. Then layer CT contour wand, medium-dark for that extra sculpted feel. The standout here though is the Super Nudes Nudegasm Face Palette. Add as much sculpting, peachy highlight, super glow as you want!
