Beyoncé Jolene CMT Music Awards 2024

Fans of Beyoncé were in for a treat during the CMT Music Awards. While the singer herself wasn’t there, her cover of Jolene could be heard during the commercial break. One fan posted a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, of the audience at this year’s CMT Music Awards; Jolene can be heard playing over the loudspeaker.

At one point during the night, several artists who collaborated with Beyoncé on Cowboy Carter took to the stage to present an award. Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts provided harmony vocals for “Blackbiird” a take on Paul McCartney’s “Blackbird.”

Speaking at the awards show’s red carpet on Sunday, Adell said she felt “very honored” to be included on an album by “my favorite artist on the planet,”

Who was Jolene Dolly Parton

Featured on Beyoncé’s new album Cowboy Carter, Jolene is a cover of Dolly Parton’s song of the same name. The song is now one of the most iconic of Parton’s song list.

Who was Jolene Dolly Parton

Parton previously spoke about the dual meaning of the song. Initially, the country music icon received inspiration from a little red-haired girl at one of her concerts who wanted an autograph. Parton asked the girl’s name and the girl answered that it was Jolene.

“That sounds like a song,” Parton recalled saying, “I’m going to write a song about that,”

Years later, Parton’s husband was allegedly being flirted with by a redheaded bank teller, “I put a stop to that,”

Despite receiving mixed reactions from fans, Parton took to Instagram to say how much she loved Beyoncé’s version.

“Wow, I just heard Jolene. Beyoncé is giving that girl some trouble and she deserves it!”

Paul McCartney also took to Instagram to praise Beyoncé’s “magnificent” version of his song “Blackbird.”

“it reinforces the civil rights message that inspired me to write the song in the first place,”
