Time’s Person of the Year, Taylor Swift, called out Kim Kardashian

Taylor Swift called out Kim Kardashian during her interview with TIME Magazine, saying that it was “a career death.” Taylor was just named the TIME’s Person of the Year. The interview frankly started around Taylor’s career path, including the highs and lows of her career. However, the diva also mentioned that there was a time when she felt hard to go through when Kim Kardashian leaked a phone call between Taylor and Kanye West discussing his song “Famous.”

In the TIME’s interview, Taylor described her anxiety and depression after the video leak. She had to escape to a foreign country, where she had a rental house to shut up for a year without answering phone calls. She could not trust anyone anymore and barricaded herself.

What happened between Taylor and Kanye?

Everything of the 2016 phone call, also called Taylor-Kanye Feud, started with lyrics from Kanye’s song “Famous,” which he released in 2016. The lyrics included lines referencing Taylor Swift: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, why? / I made that b— famous.”

Kanye said Taylor knew the song was coming out, which she denied. Even more, she was shocked after hearing the song’s release. However, Kim Kardashian leaked a fake edited video about an illegally recorded phone call months later.  At that time, Kardashian was Kayne’s husband. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian married for eight years, from 2014 to 2022. She published their part of the conversation for three minutes on her Snapchat, which West’s team claimed vindicated him.
Furthermore, someone later made its entire 25-minute video in public. The person who posted the video was undiscovered, and this phone call leak unsettled Taylor. However, the more extended actual footage opened up later disproved Taylor’s complete approval of the lyrics.

What did Kanye interrupt Taylor for?

It goes back to 2009 when Kanye started to interrupt Taylor. Their strained relationship is already a well-known fact of all time. Kanye first interfered with Taylor at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2009. Kayne broke off Taylor’s awards speech for ” You Belong with Me.” He said Beyonce should have won instead. It was the honorable time for the diva until the obstruction intruded. After the incident, the rapper got much backlash. However, their friendship did not last long.

Are Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian friends?

Taylor and Kardashian have never gotten along with each other. Since Kardashian is Kanye’s wife and because of the lyrics he released, they are still in strife with one another.
