Wendy Williams documentary has left many fans concerned.

The two-part docuseries Where Is Wendy Williams? was recently released on February 24 of this year. The documentary original intent was to give an inside glimpse of what the former talk show host is up to.

Due to her recent decline in health, the series slowly turned into what some describe as a hard watch. Williams was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, she also seems to experience cognitive issues and struggling to understand the loss of her talk show.

Should this be documented?

Many viewers have questioned whether or not this documentary is more intrusive than informative. In the docuseries, she is seen verbally abusing employees, shining light on the severity of her alcohol abuse and her sporadic outbursts.

According to this article (here) one of the producers, Mark Ford, shared that if the team had prior knowledge of Williams’s health, they would have not proceeded with the documentary. He also mentioned that behavior became increasingly erratic the more they filmed.

He says it’s a telling story that’s not just Wendy’s but a universal story about what happens to a family when they have a loved one who’s incapacitated. Ford also added that he hopes people get to the end of it and understand why they decided to finish the project, she and her management all supporting it.
