Today is the day American voters will go to the poll to cast their vote, but many wonder when will we actually find out who won the election?
According to BBC, “The first polls close at 18:00 EST (23:00 GMT) on Tuesday evening and the last at 01:00 EST (06:00 GMT) early on Wednesday.”
Depending on the closeness of the race, some election results will announce that night, or the following morning. Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris have been running in close proximity for what has been weeks. Pennsylvania is a key swing state. Their polls opened at 7 AM yesterday, and Kamala Harris also gave final commentary in the state.
When Were Other Elections Announced?
2020: Joe Bidens victory announces 4 days post election
2016: Trumps win declared only a few hours after polls close
2012: Baracks victory declared before midnight on the same day
This election has been crucial in where Americans feel their personal values land. One candid has had their identity called into question, while the other sends worry based on their sensationalism. To see such a close race highlights the passion citizens have not only on border policy and abortion rights, but what is important when it comes to truth and authenticity from the candidates.
