Talk to us about how you got started in the music space.

I sang and played guitar and piano at Tallasskolans Musikklasser in Sweden. Music, baking, and babysitting were my favorite things to do growing up. When I met Roy, I was very career-focused, working for the biggest marketing agency in Scandinavia. I spent most of my awake hours at the office. We fell in love, which meant that in addition to many late nights and red roses, I found myself surrounded by music. I was singing again. It’s truly a beautiful love story that brought music and my childhood dreams back.

What was it like releasing your new cover of “Blue Bayou”?

Thrilling! Because it’s such a well-known song. Linda Ronstadt and Roy Orbison have a lot to live up to. We did it respectfully but had a lot of fun and tried to make something we could be proud of that people would like to listen to.

You recently shared, “Love is Strange” and “Baby I’m Yours.” What can you tell us about these singles?

“Love is Strange” is a duet I do with my husband, so it’s very light and meaningful at the same time. It was recorded all analog on very old tape machines. We worked with the legendary guitarist Wayne Moss, so it has a sound you can’t really get anymore. And, of course, it’s everybody’s favorite song from “Dirty Dancing.”
“Baby, I’m Yours” is the last song on the album. It has a slow, romantic vibe and a great hook—the kind of song I like to sing in the shower.

We hear a full-length album is coming soon- can you give us any hints as to what we can expect?

We are pressing high-quality vinyl because this music deserves to be played like the good old days. It’s also available on Spotify for the good new days. We really set out to make an album so all the songs relate to each other. From the song order to the instrumentation to the album cover, we are very proud of it and hope everybody likes it as much as we do.

What’s next for you?

I’m learning how to surf, so I’m going to hit the beach as much as I can this fall! We’ll be playing some shows, working on the second album, and hopefully making a lot of new friends.
