A$AP Rocky may face up t0 24 years in prison in light of assault allegations.

January 30, 2025- As outlined in Forbes, Rocky was arrested in April 2022 in Los Angeles. According to Variety, TerellRelliEphron is accusing the rapper of firing a gun at him in November 2021 (here). Recently, Rocky turned down a plea deal that would have resulted in 180 days behind bars. However, the rapper will face up to 24 years in prison if found guilty.

A$AP Rocky Allegations

According to Forbes,  the rapper’s legal team has stated that Rocky was carrying a prop gun from a music video. In addition, his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, argues that the prosecutors lack evidence such as fingerprints, and accuses Ephron of making up parts of the story. Rocky’s legal team claims that Ephron was the aggressor and that Rocky used the prop gun to break up their struggle.

During the first day of the trial, prosecutors played surveillance footage of Rocky drawing a gun, and a separate clip that captures the sound of a gunshot. However, the alleged assault is not directly caught on camera (here).

A$AP Rocky and Rhianna

Rhianna appeared in court alongside Rocky’s mother and sister to support him. In fact, the couple had dinner at a restaurant afterward. Rhianna will not testify in the case but was a talking point both during and leading up to the trial. For instance, prospective jurors believe her fame would affect the case outcome (here).
