September 10th, 2024 – Beyoncé was snubbed for any CMA nominations.

Nominations for the 2024 CMA Awards were announced yesterday. While many popular artists received nominations, fans of one artist were surprised that their favorite didn’t receive any nominations. After having success with her album, “Cowboy Carter,” Beyoncé failed to receive any CMA nominations this year.

While Beyoncé, 43, has stayed silent about her snubs, her fandom has not. Members of the Beyhive took to social media to share their disappointment. “Beyonce should host a live show on all platforms at the same time as the CMAs. Or release the videos for the album the minute the CMAs begin,” one Twitter user wrote. Another added, “Beyoncé didn’t receive a single nomination at the Country Music Awards (CMAs). It has started.”A third social media user noted how the singer was “still dominating the conversation” surrounding the awards show even though she didn’t receive any nominations.

Beyoncé explained to fans that this album had been “over five years in the making” and referenced an experience where she “did not feel welcomed” on the country music scene. Black women in country music have been denied legitimacy by the industry, even though they have a lot of influence. Country music operates on a hierarchy composed of race, gender, and class. However, artists in the minority are commonly not defended when criticized by others. Beyoncé faces the same issue: many country music fans became hostile and rude towards her after announcing “Cowboy Carter. However, Ms.Carter isn’t fazed by the critics and hopes that this era of her music will go down in history. Not just because she’s black but because she has reimagined a music genre.
