In a recent interview on In Depth With Graham Bensinger, Dolph Lundgren revealed he was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2015 and has been fighting it ever since. According to this article, the actor has been fighting the diagnosis quietly.

During the interview, Lundgren opened up about finding a kidney tumor in 2015. Later on, in 2020, as he thought he was experiencing acid reflux, he found several other tumors in his kidney.

“This is just the first time I’ve spoken about it. So if you can save one person’s life who was in my situation then it’s worth it, for sure,” the actor confessed. “Then I did scans every six months. Then you do it every year and it was fine for five years. In 2020, I was back in Sweden and had some kind of acid reflux… So I did an MRI, and they found that there were a few more tumors around that area.” he continued.

As he went on and explained his treatment and opened up about the side effects of the therapy he had undergone, the Swedish actor added that his diagnosis had affected his fiancée, Emma Krokdal, as well. “And that wasn’t very nice for myself for you know, my poor fiancée who suffered through that,” he added.

Dolph Lundgren and Emma Krokdal got engaged in 2020. In another interview on In Depth With Graham Bensinger, the actor addressed the age gap between them. “I feel like Emma is very mature for her age, for sure. She’s had an interesting life. She came over here from a small town in Norway. She was married here and she went through a difficult divorce and went through a lot of stuff that most young people her age don’t have to deal with.” he said earlier this year, as noted here.
