From bike rides to lunch dates to the Met Gala, the couple have been paparazzi darlings; rumours of their relationship have been floating around since January of last year.

At the beginning of 2021, Kravitz filed for divorce with actor Karl Glusman, leading to a series of rumours about her relationship with Tatum. However, People Magazine reported that the duo were set to work together on an upcoming project, and were not romantically involved.

In June, however, it was revealed that Tatum was set to star in Kravitz’s directorial debut, the upcoming Pussy Island. The movie is about Frida, a young, clever cocktail waitress, who sets her eyes on tech mogul and philanthropist—Tatum’s character, Slater King—and later manipulates her way into his inner circle and an intimate gathering at a private island.

“Chan was my first choice, the one I thought of when I wrote this character,” Kravitz told Deadline. “[…] I got the sense he’s a true feminist and I wanted to collaborate with someone who was clearly interested in exploring this subject matter.”

While Kravitz’s casting seemed almost intuitive to her, Tatum was surprised—even taken aback. He gushed about the role: “This came out of nowhere and the subject matter made me say, wait, why are you thinking about me for this? No one gives me a chance to play a role like this, everybody throws me down a different alley and expects me to do a certain thing. It was scary and liberating, just to be able to have a free conversation, where I was allowed to mess up and say the wrong things.”

In August, the pair was spotted on a bike ride in NYC, and sources confirmed their relationship a week later: “It started out as a friendship, and eventually turned to be more. The duo was recently spotted at a restaurant in New York City being very affectionate.” The same day, images of the pair enjoying a stroll through Central Park were released.

“It’s so complex,” Kravitz told People Magazine in September, “that space when you’re in between heartbroken and mourning the loss of something, and excited for what’s ahead of you.”

The pair were also seen at September’s Met Gala—although they didn’t arrive together, they were later seen leaving the event together for an afterparty. After their relationship was confirmed, they wore couple halloween costumes (as Iris and Travis from Taxi Driver), and Tatum followed several Zoë Kravitz fan accounts on Instagram.

The duo seem more relaxed and happier, and Kravitz is slowly getting to know Tatum’s 8 year old daughter, Everly, who he shares with his ex-wife Jenna Dewan.
