Meet Nazlia- the inspiring founder behind the successful fashion jewelry brand, CHVKER Jewelry.

Nazlia draws inspiration from the world around her when it comes to creating her top-trending pieces. CHVKER Jewelry is also making waves on social media and celebrities across the globe love sporting pieces from the brand.

Tell us all about yourself and how you founded your brand, CHVKER Jewelry.

My name is Nazlia Yunus, and I was born in New Jersey to immigrant parents that divorced very early in my childhood. My superhero mom raised three kids as a single mom with a slew of financial difficulties. As a child, I helped her around the house with cooking, cleaning, and caring for my younger brothers. However, all I ever wanted was to grow up so I could assist financially. So, that is exactly what I did.

At the age of 15, I got my first job and the hustle hasn’t stopped since. Then, in 2014, at the age of 18, I decided a side business would be helpful with additional income, as I worked minimum wage jobs to pay for college. With the last of my paycheck, I made my way to a craft store and walked out with $20 worth of faux suede, beads, charms, pliers, and a mission. In between 18-hour semesters and my other job, I spent endless days and nights perfecting my craft. Each design was connected and clamped piece by piece and uploaded to my Etsy shop.

I harnessed the power of social media to display the brand to the world. Although growth was slow in the beginning, I was extremely determined and consistent with my newfound business. The rest is history. Chvker Jewelry became a significant part of my life and changed my world in so many ways I never imagined possible.

 Where does the inspiration behind the pieces come from?

As a creative soul, I draw inspiration every moment from the colorful world around me. Nostalgic and vintage fashion play a major role in my personal style, as well as my Uzbek heritage, which features vibrant colors and unique designs. Oftentimes, I will come across an eye-catching work of art, strikingly bold fabrics, or funky shapes and get to work.

My inner child exploded when the 90s/early 2000s made their comeback into fashion. I grew up during that time wearing chokers that I’d make for myself from anything I could find around the house like my mom’s old jewelry, ribbons, and fabrics. The world we live in is too beautiful to not be inspired to accomplish something great!

What are some must-have pieces we need to shop from the brand?

An absolute must-have piece would be our iconic Pearly Butterfly Earrings, this bestseller went viral and we couldn’t keep it in stock when Jennie from Black Pink wore them.

I think everyone needs a go-to ring as well. I would definitely say our Pink Paris Ring does the trick. To complete the look, top it off with one of our best-selling Custom Name Necklaces. This is a classic staple piece you will cherish forever.

From a cultural standpoint, I can’t leave home without one of our evil eye pieces to ward off any evil or negative energy. You would be surprised at the power that just one jewelry piece has to elevate your look.

Any future plans for the brand? What can we expect to see from CHVKER Jewelry in 2022? 

My team and I are constantly brainstorming ideas! I intend to expand our demographic and want to create more unisex jewelry featuring cutting-edge designs that any and everyone can wear. I want to increase our momentum within the next year. With Tik Tok on the rise, I believe our latest collaborations will really help kick us into gear.

In terms of expansion, we receive a ton of requests to wholesale my products so I plan to get the ball rolling on that. The future has endless possibilities. I believe I am capable of accomplishing anything I set my eyes on.
