A few fans believe that the track, “Muddy Feet,” criticizes Hemsworth for being unfaithful while they were together. “You smell like perfume that I didn’t purchase,” Cyrus sings on the tune, a collaboration with Sia. “Now I know why you’ve been closing the curtains/ Get the f–k out of my house.”

She adds, “Always questioning my questioning/ Get the f-k out of my head with that s-t,” later in the song. Cyrus, makes it seem as though Hemsworth, kept “comin’ ’round with his muddy feet and that she would have to “do something about it.”

Cyrus doesn’t mention Hemsworth by name, but it is obvious she is talking about him as their previous relationship is undoubtedly the singer’s longest and most well-known public relationship.

The ex-couple originally connected in 2009 while filming The Last Song, and they went on several sporadic dates over the next ten years. They got married in 2018 and then divorced shortly after in 2019.

Fans have associated a lot of Cyrus’ recent music with Hemsworth due to the length and complexity of the former couple’s relationship, including the title track from Endless Summer Vacation, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The star sings with assurance on “Flowers” about her capacity to love herself more than her former boyfriend, who many assume to be Hemsworth, ever could. Another fact is that on January 13 of this year, which is Hemsworth’s 33rd birthday, Cyrus released “Flowers” in literal terms. There you go, then.

Many of the singer’s fans on Twitter shared their theories about how she might have been hinting at Hemsworth’s infidelity in her songs.
