Mission Ranjganj Motion Poster Out: Akshay Kumar As Jaswant Singh Gill Embarks To Rescue 65 Trapped Miners

Akshay Kumar shared a motion poster of his upcoming reality-drama Mission Raniganj on Instagram on Wednesday. The film is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai.

Parineeti Chopra will be seen alongside Akshay in the movie, as noted here. Akshay shared a motion poster of the film and wrote in the caption, “In 1989, one man achieved the impossible! The teaser for the film will be out tomorrow, September 7. Get ready to witness the inspiring tale of Bharat’s true hero in “#MissionRaniganj.” It is slated to hit theatres on October 6th, 2023. This story will touch on the Great Bharat Rescue of 1989 that left the country with bated breath. 65 miners who were trapped in a flooded quarry painfully awaited death, until one man named Jaswant Singh Gill fought hard to rescue them- making it the first coal mine rescue in India, as noted here. The story is based on a real incident. Akshay Kumar can be seen playing a Punjabi Character, in which the title was earlier called, “The Great Indian Rescue.”

Mission Raniganj is an ode to the resilience, determination, and valor of the human spirit and mind. It also features an ensemble cast including Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, Jameel Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt and Omkar Das Manikpuri.
