Now, the actor is taking to the stage and joined David Mamet’s new play Henry Johnson.

According to Just Jared, the play “follows the plight of a man after an act of compassion upends his life.”

Additionally, LaBeouf ‘s castmates include Evan Jonigkeit (playing the titular character) and Oscar nominee David Paymer and Dominic Hoffman.

In fact, LaBeouf issued a statement about the production to Deadline this past week expressing gratitude at being part of the production.

“I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work with David Mamet.”

LaBeouf added, “His talent and creativity are unparalleled, and it is truly an honour to collaborate with arguably our greatest living playwright.”

He praised the play’s director Marja-Lewis Ryan for her guidance and mentorship throughout the process calling it “invaluable.”

Furthermore, LaBeouf said he was thankful for the opportunity to grow as a performer.

“Working with these artists has deepened my appreciation for the power of storytelling. I am immensely thankful for the chance to learn from and build with them.”

While it may have been a tough road for Shia LaBeouf’s career over the years, it’s great he found a way to express himself creatively.
