Simone Biles Responds To Negative Comments Made By Her Ex-Teammate MyKayla Skinner

Simone Biles seemingly fired back at former teammate MyKayla Skinner. Skinner has been uploading videos to her YouTube channel following her family and everyday life. Most recently, she filmed her reactions to different Olympic events and trials happening within the past few months. A video of MyKayla’s went viral after she seemingly shaded the current USA Gymnastics Team.

Skinner claimed that the current US Team lacks a “work ethic.” She also believed that the team didn’t have the same talent as it used to. MyKayla said in her now-deleted YouTube video, “Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t like what it used to be.” She continued, “I mean, obviously, a lot of girls don’t work as hard. The girls just don’t have the work ethic.”.

This past week, the USA Gymnastics Team won gold in the team event at the Paris 2024 games. Biles, along with Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera, are among the five women chosen to attend this year’s games. Biles clapped back at Skinner with a caption on her Instagram post saying, “Lack of talent, lazy, Olympic champions ❤️????????????” as the girls celebrated their gold medal win.

Simone’s teammates, fans, and other celebrities praised the gymnast, some noting her comeback to MyKayla Skinner’s comments. Team USA member Suni Lee said, “Put a finger down if Simone Biles just ended you ????????.” Other former Olympians, such as Michelle Kwan and Laurie Hernandez, praised the gymnasts’ work and expressed their pride in their win.

While MyKayla hasn’t made many comments since the US team’s gold medal win, she did address her former claims, which Simone and others commented on. She made a short apology on her Instagram but also claimed her words were “misunderstood.” She claims she didn’t mean to be rude or cause harm to Team USA or anyone in USA Gymnastics.
