Stephen Amell opens up about what to expect in the upcoming season of Heels.

In the year since Amell and his wife Cassandra welcomed their second child, Amell opened up to ET about the new season of Heels which will air Friday, July 28, that is set to continue the story of two rivaling brothers in small-town Duffy, Georgia. At the end of the first season, Ace (Ludwig) walks away from his brother Jack (Amell) after his betrayal, and season 2 apparently will pick up from the finale with the two of them trying to figure out life without each other. See the trailer here.

Sitting down with Denny Directo of ET, Amell talks about the bond shared between the cast both on-screen and off-screen.” Read Amell’s ET interview here. He reflects on how much he relies on Ludwig and vice versa to help each other through the tough times.

“I have leaned on Alexander a lot, both personally and professionally. I really admire his work ethic,” Amell said. These two are truly friendship goals and the bond has only strengthened over their shared experience of fatherhood, and it should be an interesting season to see how the dynamic evolves after last season’s finale.

What is Alexander Ludwig famous for?

Famous for his time in Hunger Games and winning two awards for his work on the blockbuster movies, Ludwig is on a new journey in the new season of Heels. Ludwig’s character Ace finds himself in a situation of self-discovery and “stepping out on his own” that many people face in their life, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise that with such an emotional arc, he would lean on his friend and co-star for much-needed guidance.

Ludwig was quoted as saying, “I do lean on Stephen a lot”, he says. “He comes to me all the time. Like, we have cuddle sessions, and we’ll just talk about how we’re doing in life and I’m kind of his therapist”.

Bonding over fatherhood?

Given the clear strong bond between Amell and Ludwig, has fatherhood had an impact on their friendship? By all accounts, no. After Amell welcomed his son last year and Ludwig welcomed his daughter this year, naturally conversations about fatherhood do come up. However, Ludwig doesn’t credit Amell for advice about parenting. Instead, Ludwig credits the best advice from Amell, in regard to his engagement citing that it was the advice he remembered the most and has since shared it with friends who have gotten engaged.

The best of luck to both Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig in their upcoming new season of Heels.
