Taylor Swift iHeartRadio Awards 2024 SZA Miley Cyrus
Taylor Swift accepted iHeartRadio’s Artist of the Year award during Monday night’s awards ceremony. The singer, who is currently on tour, thanked both iHeart and “anyone who voted for this award,” in a pre-recorded video.
Swift, 34, was nominated for 9 awards including Pop Artist of the Year and Best Lyrics, both of which she won. The iconic pop singer was also nominated alongside artists such as SZA and Miley Cyrus for Song of the Year and Pop Song of the Year, respectively. SZA won the former award for her song “Kill Bill” and Cyrus won the latter for “Flowers.”
iHeartRadio Awards 2024 Winners Jungkook BTS
Swift wasn’t the only one who took home coveted awards. BTS’ Jungkook broke his own former group’s award streak by winning the Best Music Video award for his song “Seven.”
As mentioned in a related article, Jungkook is the first Asian artist to win Best Music Video and the first winner in the newly added category K-Pop Artist of the Year.
Beyoncé also accepted this year’s Innovator Award from Stevie Wonder.
Taylor Swift Songs New Album Tourtured Poets Department
During her acceptance speech, Swift thanked iHeartRadio for being “so incredibly supportive over the course of my entire career,”
This support included iHeart pledging to only play the re-recorded versions of Swift’s back catalogue after they were “sold away from me” after Scooter Braun purchased the record company that owned the rights to them in 2019.
Swift ended her acceptance speech on Monday night by promoting her upcoming album “The Tortured Poets Department” expressing that she is “so proud of it” and “cannot wait to share it with you,”
“The Tortured Poets Department” comes out on April 19th.
