A video of an in-depth tour of the missing submarine that conducts tours of the Titanic wreck is going viral online.

A video of the inside workings of the missing Titanic submarine has gone viral online so HOLR is breaking it all down.

Titanic Tourist Sub

A submarine destined for conducting tours of the Titanic shipwreck at the bottom of the North Atlantic Ocean has gone missing with members inside. Supposedly, contact with the submarine was seemingly lost 1 hour and 45 minutes into the approximately 8-10 hour-long dive, which sees guests visit the bottom of the ocean floor for Titanic viewing purposes. Tickets for this expedition cost approximately $250,000 per seat.

This TikTok video reposted by user @sarah89uk showcases a CBS news report from a few months ago which took a look at the inside workings of the submarine vessel used to conduct the Titanic tours.

Titanic Submarine Missing

This now-viral video shows the inside of the “Titan”, which conducts the tours and belongs to OceanGate. Inside, the submarine seemingly has enough room as a minivan, but the space is rather cozy. The vessel also has only 1 button. The Titan is supposedly the only 5-person sub in the world that can reach Titanic depths, which is located 2.4 miles under the sea.

As noted in the TikTok video news report, it’s also the only one with a toilet. What’s interesting to note is that some of the pieces of this sub seemed “improvised.” The sub uses “off-the-shelf” components, in which some parts are from Camping World and the vessel is even seemingly run by a “game controller.”

This TikTok video posted by BBC News (user @bbcnews) goes into detail regarding how the vessel is controlled by a game controller.

Who was on the Titanic submarine?

Allegedly, Hamish Harding- a British billionaire and adventure traveler- is among those who are trapped inside the missing submarine as noted here. There is supposedly also an operator as well as four mission specialists on board the submersible, although their identities have not yet been revealed.

A search and rescue mission is underway to locate the submarine and bring those on board to safety. According to this article, the submarine has emergency oxygen and a 96-hour sustainment capability if there’s an emergency. As of yesterday, there are approximately “somewhere between 70 to the full 96 hours available at this point,” said Rear Admiral John Mauger of the U.S. Coast Guard.
