Writing, Writer, Notes, Pen, Notebook

Many of us consider ourselves writers, whether we create books, blogs, articles, or other content, and have something published traditionally or not.

Writers abound in every culture, age group, and location, and the chances are that you have at least one writer family member, friend, colleague, or other contact in your life. If so, the next time you need to buy them a gift, you might like to consider the following suggestions.

Great Notebook

Most writers like to keep a notebook on them at all times so they can jot down their great ideas or make notes of things to research when they get home. Writers use notebooks and journals frequently to help take note of thoughts, fears, concerns, and the like and reduce the likelihood of writer’s block and other issues.

As a result, something you know that the writer in your life is sure to get plenty of use out of is a beautiful blank notebook. You might choose one with a cover and internal quotes or images relating to one of their favorite books, shows, movies, etc., or opt for a product with an inspirational quote on the front to keep them motivated during their tougher writing times.

Plus, there are all sorts of simpler goods to choose from that are focused on providing top-quality paper or a cover with a built-in bookmark, pen holder, and a flap for collecting bits and pieces of paper, etc. On the other hand, you could go down a different route and buy a waterproof notepad that gets stuck to the tiles of a user’s shower. That way, the writer can take advantage of the inspiration that so often flows while standing under hot water and write down their ideas as they think of them while bathing.

Luxurious Pens

If you’re looking for something to add to the above present or know that the writer you’re buying for already has a good selection of notebooks, you might choose to buy them one or more exquisite pens. There may be many cheap products on the market these days, but those who frequently write with pen and paper know the importance of utilizing quality, luxury pens specifically designed to be smooth, consistent, and comfortable to write with.

If you’re unsure of the best options to select for your loved one, research pen types or head to a specialist stationery or office supplies store and ask some staff members for information and assistance. You might also be able to take note of the types of writing implements your writer friend, family member, or colleague uses regularly or mentions they wish they could splurge on, and take this as inspiration.

Book Tote Bag

If you know a writer, you know they invariably end up carrying a lot of books around with them throughout the week. Whether it’s to go to and from the library or bookshops, or carrying tomes and documents and their laptop to write in coffee shops, at the beach, or elsewhere, all writers usually have plenty of books and other bits and pieces to cart around. A strong book tote bag can thus be incredibly handy for them.

Writers can never have too many bags like this and often enjoy being able to switch up these products or having multiple ones for different purposes. You will also find many book bags available to select from, many of which have fun book or author quotes on them or feature images of popular titles.

Inspirational Mug or a Pack of Nice Coffee or Tea

Writers are also known for drinking a lot of coffee and tea as they ponder and come up with, edit, or procrastinate on their words. As such, you might like to purchase an inspirational mug for the writer in your life to use for their hot beverages.

Alternatively, or in addition, you might purchase a pack of excellent coffee or tea for them to imbibe. Pick out some lovely local products, pay for them to enjoy a subscription service for a few months, or stock up on what you know are their favorite drinks. Any of these options will help to keep your loved one inspired and writing, or at least taking a few breaks when they need some time to unwind.

These are just a few ideas to consider. You might also shop for other items that suit writers, such as:

  • Subscription to a literary magazine or a book delivery service
  • Voucher for a stay in a creative accommodation spot where they can write interrupted
  • Ticket to a writer’s conference or retreat
  • A gift card to a bookstore
  • Noise-canceling headphones
  • Beautifully-scented, relaxing candle
  • Bottle of Writers Tears whiskey

As you can see, it doesn’t take much to find some practical yet memorable gifts for writers. Think about what the creative person in your life loves and how they live and work, and you’ll be sure to get an idea of the perfect present for them.
