World Vegan Day is a day to commemorate the dedication to living a vegan lifestyle. Below, we listed some of our favourite vegan bag and wallet brands that are committed to the animal and cruelty-free lifestyle. 

Pixie Mood

Pixie Mood is a Canadian vegan leather accessories brand founded in 2010. As a brand, they believe that “style can be trendy, functional and socially responsible.” Their products are made of 100%  cruelty-free, vegan materials and packaged in biodegradable packaging. In addition to that, they get their materials tested yearly to meet California Prop 65 Standard. 

Pixie Mood was definitely right when they said style can be trendy and socially responsible. Their Ashley Shoulder bag from their FW21 collection is a lightweight unlined tote made out of recycled vegan leather. It’s sleek with a minimalistic design that’s perfect for an everyday tote bag.

HOZEN: Vegan Leather Bags

HOZEN is a vegan accessory bag founded in 2018 by designer Rae Nicoletti. Nicoletti as a vegan herself could not use animal leather for her handbags. Instead, she committed herself to sourcing leather alternatives and ethical production to create her brand. HOZEN runs a small batch production from a fair-wage factory in Los Angeles. The brand only uses PETA-approved vegan materials and is part of the C02 Neutral Climate Initiative. Some materials they use are Desserto cactus leather, Piñatex pineapple husk leather, recycled plastic threads and zippers, water-based vegan PU, vegan adhesive, and plenty more. If those initiatives don’t entice you yet, then perhaps the designs will. HOZEN is an incredible design-led brand that makes interesting, stylish handbags and small “leather” goods. Their Card Holder is small enough to carry the essentials but cute enough to stand out on its own. It can be worn with a rope tie that can loop around the waist or wrist or simply carry it as is.

Mashu

Another contemporary brand that prioritizes sustainable innovation without compromising design, Mashu is a cruelty-free and ethical handbag company founded in 2017 by Greek designer, Ioanna Topouzoglou. Most of their production is done by local artisans in Athens, Greece. Mashu is also PETA-approved and uses materials like Piñatex, Hemp, Desserto cactus leather, and recycled cotton. Mashu’s designs are heavily inspired by Art Deco and cylindrical architecture and the Cassiopeia handbag is exactly that. The exterior is made of Desserto cactus leather and 100% cork (for the cork and white colourway).
