The Madame Web star allegedly “wasn’t surprised” by the reportedly poor box office performance or negative reviews from her new film.

The Madame Web movie, which stars Johnson and Sydney Sweeney among others, has allegedly received 12 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and has made just 91 million worldwide on an estimated budget of 80 million.

In an interview with Bustle recently, Johnson was asked if she was supposedly bothered by the reviews and replied, “Unfortunately, I’m not surprised that this has gone down the way it has”.

“I had never done anything like it before,” Johnson said during the interview. “I probably will never do anything like it again because I don’t make sense in that world. And I know that now. But sometimes in this industry, you sign on to something, and it’s one thing and then as you’re making it, it becomes a completely different thing, and you’re like, Wait, what? But it was a real learning experience, and of course it’s not nice to be a part of something that’s ripped to shreds, but I can’t say that I don’t understand.”

Sony Pictures

“Lots of people at Sony are questioning her star power, and how she reacted to this failure will likely come back to haunt her,” an insider seemingly told the outlet DailyMail.com as outlined in a related article about her latest film. According to the outlet, the source alleges that producers and Sony “aren’t laughing” at how Johnson is seemingly continuing to drag “how she sees the fallout of Madame Web.”

What do you think of Dakota Johnson’s latest response to the reviews and claims about her newest film?
