Get your popcorn, take a comfortable seat, and be ready to get the chills watching this selection of Halloween movies with the whole family, your friends, or if you feel brave enough… by yourself.

It (2017)

Probably what caused people to start being afraid of clowns since the first version in 1990. And if you are not afraid of them yet, you probably will after watching this movie. This 2017 film is an overly terrifying version of Pennywise. The clown returns to Derry, Maine every 27 years to torment the town’s kids.

Sleepy Hollow (1999)

The drama is based on “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” by Washington Irving. We find a policeman who times after time is brought into the town to solve the murderous headless horseman’s crimes. A perfect combination of period drama with dark legends and some romance. And it couldn’t get better with Johnny Depp as the main character.

Corpse Bride (2005)

What could possibly go wrong when practicing your vows? Perhaps you could accidentally summon forth a corpse bride. One of Tim Burton’s great works with Danny Elfman’s incredible score. A movie that both, young ones and grown-ups will love.

In the Tall Grass (2019)

Did you hear that? There’s something lurking in the field. If you haven’t had the chance to get to know one of Stephen King’s classic stories, this is the right time. You will probably get trapped by this shifting maze and be shocked by the characters’ choices and the development of the story.

Psycho (1960)

An Alfred Hitchcock’s classic that won’t ever get old and will always have you at the edge of your seat. Marion Crane bumps into Norman Bates, the Bates Motel manager, after doing a not very well-planned robbery and trying to find a place to spend the night on the roadside. She discovers, in a not very pleasant way, that Norman has an obsessive relationship with his mother.

Scooby Doo (2002) & Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004)

A classic character that we loved as kids and still love today. Watching these movies now make us realize the adult jokes we didn’t notice before. Have fun with your whole family and friends watching the Mystery Machine squad chase after the bad guys.

Coraline (2009)

A beautifully made film for children that will also make adults be thinking about it for the rest of the night. An unhappy girl, Coraline, discovers a secret door in her new house where apparently, she has everything she wanted. But this magical place may not be actually what she wished for.

Veronica (2017)

In 1991 a girl decides to do a séance with her friends. She probably wished she hadn’t. This real-life based story takes you to Veronica’s home and meets her 3 younger siblings, whom she basically looks after almost completely by herself, and find out she brought an evil force to their apartment.
