Matty Healy Apologizes To Ice Spice For Offensive Comments

The 1975 lead singer, Matty Healy apologizes publically to Ice Spice for offending her during his show in Auckland, New Zealand.

“I just feel a bit bad, and I’m kind of a bit sorry if I’ve offended you,” He says in a fan video.

“Ice Spice, I’m sorry. It’s not because I’m annoyed that me joking got misconstrued. It’s because I don’t want Ice Spice to think I’m a d–k. I love you, Ice Spice. I’m so sorry. I don’t want it to be misconstrued as mean. I don’t mind being a bit of a joker… but I am genuinely sorry if I’ve upset them because I f–king love them,” He says.

The Comments Made

Healy went onto, The Adam Friedland Show Podcast, where the host pulled up a clip of Ice Spice’s song, Munch. The host explained to Healy that Ice Spice has a love for alternative music including Coldplay and The 1975.

As the segment went on, the host and Healy were trying to guess the ethnicity of the rapper. Healy began to mimic Inuit people and claimed she sounded like a Chinese woman. The two men then began to mimic Hawaiian and Chinese accents. Healy then included that he thinks Ice Spice is dumb.

Since then, the audio podcast has been removed from Spotify and Apple Music, but can still be found on Youtube.
