It’s official! Biden has dropped out of the 2024 Presidential race and he will not be seeking re-election in the future.
July 22, 2024 – This, after weeks of speculation of U.S. President Joe Biden, 81 bowing out as the Democratic Nominee to lead the party into the Presidential race.
It is a historical moment. No sitting U.S. President has ever withdrawn from re-election since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968.

U.S.A. Vice-President, Kamala Harris 59, has accepted President Joe Biden’s endorsement to lead the Democratic party into the 2024 Presidential race.
Joe Biden’s Big Announcement
Today, he released an official statement, as seen on his Instagram account, withdrawing from re-election and endorsing Vice-President Harris.
Several of his political aides and party donators in recent weeks had been privately meeting with him to step down. Biden’s health has been in question over the past year. He has been battling symptoms of COVID.
Not only was his party extremely concerned about his overall health. But also his performance on the world stage and his ability to lead the country into the next four years.
Sources say that at least 40 democrats had pressured Biden to quit since the debate. Ultimately, the decision was Biden’s alone.
The U.S.A. Presidential debate between him and former President Donald Trump who is seeking re-election, was considered disastrous.
Who Won The First Biden-Trump Presidential Debate
Biden who is the 46th President to take office, sounded incoherent during the debate. He also seemed to be mumbling, slurring his words, and frequently going off-topic during the live telecast. The damage was done. In the following weeks, according to the polls, it was apparent to his party, that he was going to lose to Donald Trump.
Since then, it’s been going downhill for Biden. However, he tried to rebound on the Presidential campaign and hit the ground running by traveling across the country, talking to voters, and speaking on many topics to try and repair his reputation. Although it was a great effort, he still has several political doubters.
Nancy Pelosi, the former Speaker of the House was instrumental in getting Biden to not seek the re-election bid, sources say.
Biden has said publicly he would only quit if he saw that he was drastically losing in the polls. The polls show that more Americans are now supporting Trump.
The concern for Biden’s Presidency has been building up for the past couple of years. We have seen on the news and at live broadcasts of him losing his balance several times, falling down steps, and even nodding off.
Joe Biden has served in government for over five decades. His political legacy is a great one, in that he has dedicated more than half of his life to serving his country.
